A family band in the truest sense — husband-and-wife leaders, sister harmonies, and a rhythm section built on sousaphone and drums.

Why We Love Bon Bon Vivant

Bon Bon Vivant makes joyful music out of heartbreak — literally. Abigail Cosio writes songs as fierce as they are tender, her husband Jeremy Kelley’s sax weaves through her sister Glori’s blood harmonies, and underneath it all a sousaphone keeps the whole beautiful mess dancing. They call what happens at their shows a community, and they’re right: this is a band that treats every room like a family reunion, if your family reunion had accordion, klezmer breakdowns, and lyrics that gut you mid-chorus. From OffBeat’s Best Emerging Artist nod to their Jazz Fest debut, they’ve earned every inch — one revelatory, revelrous show at a time.

A Family Band Built on Revelry and Heartbreak

Bon Bon Vivant is helmed by front-woman and songwriter Abigail Cosio and her husband, saxophonist and vocalist Jeremy Kelley, whose marriage and creative partnership sits at the center of the band's identity. Blood harmonies from Abigail's sister Glori Cosio round out the group's signature sound, joined by accordion and piano from Ryan Brown and a rhythm section built on sousaphone and drums.

The band's music pays homage to New Orleans' bawdy musical tradition while folding in klezmer, gypsy swing, dark ballads, and up-tempo indie dance rock — a genre-blind sound Cosio's songwriting drives with lyrics as fierce as they are heartbreaking. Named Best Emerging Artist by OffBeat Magazine in 2018, Bon Bon Vivant made its New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival debut in 2022 and has continued releasing new music, including the 2025 single “Sin Eater,” while touring nationally and building what the band calls a genuine community around every show.

“I’ll be your sin eater. I’ll take your pain away.”
