The Birthplace of Jazz, Preserved and Performed

Housed in the historic Old U.S. Mint at the edge of the French Quarter and the Frenchmen Street live music corridor, the New Orleans Jazz Museum holds a world-class collection of jazz artifacts. Affiliated with the Louisiana State Museum, the institution presents exhibitions, education, and research alongside its programming.

Beyond its exhibits, the Museum's third-floor Performance Center is a genuine draw in its own right, hosting live concerts, lectures, recordings, and community programming that underscore the institution's deep ties to the city's living jazz community, not just its history.
