Sage Edgerson, who performs as DJ Legatron Prime, is a New Orleans native who splits her time between the city and Baton Rouge. She was introduced to DJing in 2012 while hanging out at a friend's studio, and got her professional start in 2015. Since then, she has become a fixture of New Orleans nightlife, headlining PRIMETIME, her weekly Saturday night residency at The Dragon's Den on Esplanade Avenue, every week since 2017.
Legatron Prime describes herself as a multi-genre DJ, event curator and producer, creative director, and film and television costumer and wardrobe stylist. She is one-third of Where My Girls At? NOLA, New Orleans' only monthly women's party, which focuses on creating safe spaces for women and women-identifying partygoers, where she both DJs and serves as creative director. Her sets and SoundCloud mixes — with titles like Boss Ladies and Queen of Screw — regularly spotlight female artists.
Legatron Prime has performed at Hi Ho Lounge, Café Istanbul, House of Blues' Foundation Room, Republic NOLA, and festivals including BUKU Music + Art Project, Live in America Festival, and Essence Festival of Culture. She was also featured as a Boiler Room DJ in a set with Freewater, the UK-based platform's first New Orleans broadcast since 2017. In a 2018 OffBeat interview, she spoke candidly about being one of relatively few women in New Orleans DJ culture, describing how she's used skepticism from others as motivation rather than discouragement.
