Antoine Barriere grew up steeped in New Orleans' black church gospel tradition, and that foundation still runs through everything he plays. He has served as a praise and worship leader at his family's church, Household of Faith, since 2020, and has been DJing around Louisiana since 2014 — long before the wider city caught on.
His breakthrough came in December 2022, when clips from a Boiler Room x Freewater set went viral, racking up more than 3.4 million views and introducing his jigging dance breaks — where he steps from behind the decks to lead the crowd through Baton Rouge jig music — to a national audience. Since then he has headlined French Quarter Fest and shared a stage with Jon Batiste at Jazz Fest, all while running his own ENERGY!Series of parties and the annual ENERGY!Ball, mentored throughout by New Orleans DJ pioneer Raj Smoove.
