Adkins is a guitarist, songwriter, and singer based in New Orleans. He has performed on multiple Grammy-nominated albums and has held the guitar chair in the band of legendary funk bassist George Porter Jr. of The Meters since 2018, anchoring Porter's Monday residency at the Maple Leaf Bar and the Runnin' Pardners' festival sets, including NOLA Funk Fest.

He has performed with Raphael Saadiq, Maria Muldaur, Irma Thomas, Marc Broussard, Zachary Richard, Davell Crawford, Dr. John, and Roland Guerin, among others. His guitar and mandolin work can be heard everywhere from PBS documentaries to Super Bowl light shows, and he has played venues and festivals around the world — the Tahiti Jazz & Soul Festival, JazzAscona in Switzerland, Jazz Fest, Levon Helm's studio, and rooms in 48 U.S. states and as far away as Japan.
