Carencro, Louisiana singer-songwriter Marc Broussard calls his sound “bayou soul” — funk, blues, R&B, and rock with deep South Louisiana roots, from the breakout “Home” through a dozen albums and a philanthropic streak.

Biography
Marc Broussard is a Carencro, Louisiana singer-songwriter dealing in what he calls “bayou soul” — funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop with deep South Louisiana roots. Born January 14, 1982, he is the son of Ted Broussard, the Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist of the Boogie Kings, and came up in the Lafayette music scene. His major-label debut Carencro (Island, 2004), named for his hometown, carried the breakout singles “Where You Are” and “Home.”
Across a dozen-plus albums he has moved between major labels and his independent roots, and much of his recent output has been philanthropic: the S.O.S. (Save Our Soul) cover-album series benefits his S.O.S. Foundation, and S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul, cut with Joe Bonamassa, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. His latest album of originals, Time Is a Thief, arrived in 2024. He plays the Friday bill at NOLA Funk Fest 2026.
