Biography
Real name Brett LaBauve, from Hackberry, Louisiana, Bouffant Bouffant is a New Orleans DJ, producer, and self-described “party starter” whose sound spans electro, house, and techno. He founded the long-running monthly queer dance party Gimme A Reason, a touchstone of New Orleans queer nightlife, and is one-third of the queer rave collective Trax Only, which throws one-off warehouse raves with national and international talent.
He released the EP Espace Imaginaire in 2020 and a 2021 remix of SPECIAL INTEREST's “All Tomorrow's Carry,” and has played queer parties from Berlin's Buttons to Savage Hanoi and Cocktail d'Amore, plus the BUKU festival in New Orleans. He splits his time between New Orleans and New York but remains a fixture of the New Orleans scene.
