The Treme Brass Band are one of the oldest and most traditional brass bands still active in New Orleans — a living link to the neighborhood that gave the music its name and its soul, carrying the second-line tradition through the streets of the city for over five decades.

Biography
The Treme Brass Band hail from the Tremé neighborhood — the oldest African American neighborhood in the United States and the cradle of New Orleans brass band music. While other brass bands have incorporated hip-hop and contemporary sounds, the Treme Brass Band have remained committed to the traditional style: hymns, dirges, jazz standards, and marching songs. They are a fixture of jazz funerals, second-line parades, and festivals throughout New Orleans — a direct and unbroken connection to the origins of brass band music.
