Pre-War Party Band

The Slick Skillet Serenaders are a New Orleans-based 1920s and '30s-era ragtime, blues, western swing, and jazz band, with a touch of vaudeville jokes and antics. They've been an internationally touring band since 2011, busking and playing shows in all 50 states and Europe.

Their effervescent and enthusiastic shows bring a pre-WWII sensibility to life — vaudeville jokes and slapstick stage antics adding dimension to a repertoire of ragtime, traditional jazz, and blues. The band has a handful of albums out, including the 2019 Stagger Straight, with the rollicking 'Fourth Street Mess Around' and an energetic take on the early blues classic 'What's the Matter With Your Mill?'

The lineup has included Jobydiah Hudson III (tenor guitar, kazoo, vocals), Aaron Gunn (tenor banjo, vocals), Chris Herbst (slide guitar, vocals), Barry Bremmer (upright bass), and Creg Juedelman (fiddle), with instrumentation changing while the showmanship stays the same.
