Biography
SingleMaltPlease is a six-piece New Orleans band fusing jazz and hip-hop — mostly instrumental, with rapper Da Prophecy on the mic for their debut. The lineup is Maude Caillat on tenor sax, Benjamin Matlack on trumpet, Luke Palmer on keys, Adam Samolsky on bass, and Zehrin Sims on drums.
Their debut album, A Touch of Water, arrived in December 2024: seven original compositions by four different band members, recorded at Marigny Studios and funded in part by years of saved gig money. They're a working live band with a weekly Thursday slot at The Maison on Frenchmen Street and regular dates at 30/90.
