Formed in 2022 and co-led by Ella Thomasine (violin & vocals) and Scott Stobbe (guitar & vocals), the Silver Lining Serenaders are a New Orleans-based ensemble that performs as a duo, trio or quartet — expanding to add clarinet and upright bass. Their repertoire draws on the dance music of the 1920s, '30s and '40s: swing, Western swing, early jazz and a touch of classic country, with songs in English, French and Spanish reflecting New Orleans' cultural mix.
The Serenaders are regulars along the Frenchmen Street corridor and on the city's swing-dance scene, where their danceable, harmony-rich sound has made them favorites. They also tour nationally and internationally, especially in the summer months, carrying New Orleans vintage jazz to new audiences.
Their self-titled debut album arrived May 31, 2022, and Breezing Along with the Breeze followed on April 23, 2026, recorded live at Marigny Studios in New Orleans with an original by Stobbe, "I Need a Song." In 2026 they were featured artists at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
