Sari Jordan (they/them) is a vocalist, songwriter, and musician with a voice that shines in its raw honesty and playful boldness. Born in New Jersey and based in New Orleans since arriving for Tulane in 2018, Sari calls their sound 'mid-fi fairy funk' — intricate and ethereal, funky and joyful, a controlled burn. Their music explores contradictions within relationships, power, and love, with a unique voice and introspective songs that buzz at the edge between artist and listener.
In October 2023 Sari released Sing to the Moon, a four-song EP of originals recorded at Artisound Production and produced by Keenan McRae — nascent ruminations delivered with subtle confidence and ample whimsy. Their debut full-length album PERFECT BE THE ENEMY followed in May 2026: eleven songs co-produced with Ajaï Combelic and bassist Robin Sherman at Lil Squeeze Studio, turning grief and transition inside out over eclectic grooves and hypnotic guitar lines.
Around town Sari sings songbook standards with their own flair, leads their artist project, and sings harmonies with local players including Billy Iuso, Isaac Eady, and Anna Moss — with recent stages including Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro and the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
