RoryDanger & The Danger Dangers

New Orleans, LA — Active

Rory Danger & the Danger Dangers are New Orleans' self-described theatrical stunt-rock cooperative — a concept-driven rock band that debuted at Chazfest in 2010 and quickly took over the city's avant-garde rockabilly scene. Fronted by the multi-talented saxophonist, singer, and clarinetist Rory Danger (the nom de musique of Aurora Nealand), they stage rowdy, plot-driven, satirical rock and roll extravaganzas.

Stunt-Rock with Everything on It

The Danger Dangers made an epic premiere show at Chazfest 2010, quickly followed by a legendary farewell show and a heroic reunion show, and have been rocking the New Orleans underground ever since. The lineup reads like a who's-who of the Frenchmen Street rock scene: Rory Danger on lead vocals, saxophone, accordion, and penny whistle; Pepe Peligroso (Marc Paradis of Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes) on guitar and MC duties; C-Jay Bongo Danger on guitar and bongos; D'Ranger Danger (Andre Bohren, also of Johnny Sketch) on drums; Billy Digits Danger on piano; Spike Danger on guitar; and Professor Potts on bass and screams.

Their 2014 release The Age of Exploration — celebrated with an album release party at One Eyed Jacks — earned nominations for Best Emerging Artists and Best Album from OffBeat Magazine and the Gambit in 2015. The band also appeared in HBO's Treme series and has played sold-out shows across New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana, including French Quarter Fest, Chazfest, and Tipitina's.

Their much-anticipated 2023 double vinyl record, The Age of Invention, was released November 10, 2023, and includes 'all 4 known styles of music' — a 22-track melting pot of rockabilly, folk, musicals, and soundscapes. The band's shows remain infrequent but legendary, with crowd participation nearly mandatory.
