Soul, Funk, and a Higher Calling

Nigel Hall is a Washington, D.C.-born keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter. In late 2013 he relocated to New Orleans, and in 2015 he became a full-time member of the funk band Lettuce. Before that he was part of the Nth Power, the soul-and-funk outfit he helped form in 2012.

His keyboard and vocal work can be heard on Jon Cleary's Grammy-winning GoGo Juice, and his credits also include sessions with Jennifer Hartswick and Yaya Bey. On stage with Lettuce, his Hammond-driven playing and gospel-tinged singing have become a signature of the band's live sound.

As a solo artist he has released The Face of Things to Come (2006), Ladies & Gentlemen... Nigel Hall (2015), Spiritual (2021), and The Burning Bush (2024) — records that carry the same warmth and conviction he brings to a stage full of players.
