The New Orleans Legacy Coalition is an eight-piece band of all second-generation New Orleans musicians: Michael Mullins on trombone and lead vocals (son of Bonerama's Mark Mullins, and a Loyola alum), Omari Neville on percussion and lead vocals (son of Cyril Neville), River Eckert on organ, keyboards, and lead vocals (son of Jake Eckert), Bradford Lewis II on guitar and lead vocals, Austin Clements on bass, Rodney Weber on drums and percussion, Aurélien Barnes on trumpet, and Chris Spies on tenor saxophone. “All of our parents have been sort of steeped in the culture of played music in the city for their whole careers,” Mullins told Gulf Coast Weekend. “And we've all kind of been steeped in it ourselves.” They play New Orleans funk and soul.

The band made its French Quarter Festival debut in April 2026 on the Loyola Esplanade in the Shade stage — with their famous fathers joining them onstage — and has played the Oak Street Po-Boy Fest and the April 2026 Bayou RenDAZEvous benefit at the Broadside. Their debut single “Brand New Day” arrived in 2026 with an official video funded in part by a Jazz & Heritage Foundation grant. They're on the NOLA Funk Fest 2026 bill on Friday, October 16.
