Mahogany Blue is a New Orleans R&B vocal trio of three sisters — Yadonna, Lanita, and Dorene Wise — from church roots and a 1993 MCA album to backup work for Allen Toussaint and regular sets with Tony Hall's band.

Biography
Mahogany Blue is a New Orleans R&B vocal trio of three sisters — Yadonna, Lanita, and Dorene Wise — who started singing in church and cut their first single, “Fairytale Fantasy,” while still young. They won a WYLD-FM98 citywide talent show, auditioned for Showtime at the Apollo, played the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the Essence Festival, and sang backup for Allen Toussaint. After auditioning for MCA Records president Ernie Singleton in New Orleans, they signed to the label; their single “Affair” reached No. 9 on Billboard's dance/club chart and their album Love Zone followed in 1993.
The sisters never stopped performing — they have toured Europe and Asia, opened for Tina Turner, Sting, and Toto, and sung backup for Bruce Willis' band the Excellerators. They regularly perform with Tony Hall and the New Orleans Soul Stars, including the band's Saturday set at NOLA Funk Fest 2026.
