Les Femmes Farouches are a New Orleans-based quartet playing music inspired by traditional Southwestern Louisiana Cajun and Creole styles. The band draws direct inspiration from the Magnolia Sisters, a pioneering all-female Cajun group, and has built its own identity within that same tradition of women playing Cajun and Creole music, an area of the genre's history that has historically been dominated by men.
The band has become a fixture of New Orleans' Frenchmen Street music scene, with regular appearances at Three Muses, and has carried their sound to festival stages including the French Quarter Festival in New Orleans and the Black Pot Festival in Lafayette. They have also performed live on WWOZ, New Orleans' jazz and heritage radio station.
