Jesse Morrow is a Slidell, Louisiana native whose bass playing is rooted in modern and experimental jazz, flavored with elements from multiple genres. He attended the University of New Orleans, studying with modern jazz luminaries Ed Petersen and Steve Masakowski.
As both sideman and bandleader, Morrow works the Frenchmen Street clubs and holds down a regular gig at the Bacchanal Wine Bar in the Bywater. His trio has played the New Orleans Jazz Museum; he has also worked with the Nanci Zee Trio, Mia Borders, and at Skerik's Sauce Fest alongside Johnathan Freilich, Nikki Glaspie, and Helen Gillet.
His 2021 release Live at Bacchanal Vols. 1 & 2, recorded with longtime bandmate Simon Lott and saxophonist Brad Walker, features originals like 'Blutch Blue' and 'Like the Rain Last Night.' He also played bass on Mia Borders' 2024 album Firewalker.
