Biography
Born and raised in New Orleans, Perkins played guitar and sang on the Absolute Monster Gentlemen's early records, including the band's 2002 Basin Street Records debut, where Discogs credits him on guitar and vocals.
In 2010 he formed Boukou Groove with veteran vocalist and keyboardist Donnie Sundal at Tipitina's. The band's gripping New Orleans funk guitar — that's Perkins — has carried them to records including A Lil' Boukou in Your Cup (2012), Let the Groove Ride (2015), plus tours as far as Japan. As a session guitarist he's worked with Maceo Parker, Dr. John, Snarky Puppy, Bonnie Raitt, and Davell Crawford.
