Beausoleil are the preeminent Cajun band of their era — a group that has spent five decades bringing the music of the Louisiana prairie to stages across the world while keeping its roots deep in the Francophone culture that created it.

Biography
Beausoleil were founded in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1975 by fiddler and vocalist Michael Doucet, whose deep commitment to Cajun music as a living tradition has defined the band's entire career. Doucet spent years in the 1970s researching the music directly from its oldest practitioners, and that dedication to authenticity permeates every recording the band has made. Their ability to honor the tradition while finding new listeners — without ever compromising the music's essential character — made them the most important Cajun band of the contemporary era. Beausoleil have won multiple Grammy Awards and remain one of the most beloved acts on the Louisiana festival circuit.
