21st Amendment sits at 725 Iberville Street in the French Quarter, in the building known as La Louisiane. The La Louisiane restaurant dates to 1881, and its later owners included Diamond Jim Moran in the 1950s and members of the Marcello family in the 1980s. Today's bar is a Prohibition-era-themed room with nightly live music, built around mobster imagery and craft cocktails.
The bar takes its name from the constitutional amendment that repealed Prohibition, ratified December 5, 1933 — a date still celebrated as “Repeal Day.” Inside, the 1920s speakeasy atmosphere makes it a cozy escape from the chaos just off Bourbon Street.
