T'Monde — meaning "little world" or "little people" in Louisiana French — began playing together in early 2011. All three members are seasoned musicians who came to the band with deep roots in Louisiana's Cajun music scene, having played with renowned groups including the Pine Leaf Boys, the Savoy Family Band, Walter Mouton and the Scott Playboys, the Magnolia Sisters, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys, contributing to a combined ten Grammy nominations between the group's members.
Accordionist and vocalist Drew Simon was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and developed an interest in Cajun music in his late teens, beginning accordion at age 20 and building a vast repertoire of traditional songs. Guitarist and vocalist Megan Constantin, originally from Tepetate, Louisiana, grew up around the music at her grandparents' Cajun restaurant, taking up singing early and Cajun French at age 18 before performing with Ryan Brunet and Les Malfecteurs, the Pine Leaf Boys, and the Lafayette Rhythm Devils. Fiddler Kelli Jones-Savoy, known as "the Jolie Blonde of the band," has played fiddle since age fifteen.
Steeped in tradition, T'Monde plays old-fashioned Cajun music ranging from the early 1900s to the present day, with each member's distinct vocal style contributing to a sound OffBeat Magazine has described as "a creative fusion of classic country and out-of-the-way Cajun." The band's debut album, Making Believe, showcased that dynamic blend of musical styles, and their latest release, Lights in the Harbor, continues to prove that this small band can produce a genuinely big sound. T'Monde has toured extensively across the United States and internationally, performing at events including Festivals Acadiens et Créoles and Folk Roots Balfa Camp.
