Biography
Taylor Mroski is a Covington, Louisiana native working as a freelance bassist, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer in New Orleans, where he's played professionally since 2012. He studied bass at Loyola with Ed Wise, Jesse Boyd, and Roland Guerin, and his freelance week runs from straight-ahead jazz at Bacchanal to funk at 30/90, R&B at the Jazz Market, and blues in country dive bars.
His own songwriter project leans folksy, funky, and Afro-pop inflected — the single “Cheapest Flight” arrived in April 2023 — and he curates the monthly-updated “New Orleans Underground” playlist of original local independent music.
