Swing, Dance, Jazz, Pop — Since 2007

Since 2007, Swingaroux — or Roux for short — has performed for large audiences as well as small gatherings. Their calling card is versatility: they offer options from jazz trios to a five-piece rock & roll band, an eight-piece funk and soul band, and a full 17-piece swing orchestra, putting together the mix of musicians that fits each event. Good, quality musicians can play all types of music — that's Swingaroux.

The band's sound mixes standards and more contemporary tunes in a big-band fashion. The Covington Weekly called their music 'a Jambalaya consisting of female vocalist, saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section, ready to serve 100% fun' — a New Orleans local band staying true to the big band era with a fresh sound. Swing. Dance. Jazz. Pop. Oldies. Dixieland. Rock & Roll. Soul.

Swingaroux has played the National WWII Museum's Sunday Swing summer program at BB's Stage Door Canteen — a popular series featuring local swing bands and dance instructors — and the Covington Trailhead's free concert series. Weddings, corporate events, festivals, fundraisers, private parties, conventions and Mardi Gras events: theirs is the New Orleans music gumbo, jumpin' and jivin'.
