Shawn Williams hails from the melting pot of New Orleans and makes music as diverse and hauntingly soulful as her hometown. She calls it 'alt-rocka countrybilly, serial killer blues' — an atmospheric blend of amplified guitars, rawly honest lyrics, and nocturnal arrangements that amounts to her own brand of Americana-noire.
Williams has six albums to her name. Two were co-produced by Grammy-winning producer Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, the Neville Brothers, Neil Young); she self-produced the other four, a DIY drive that has earned her shows alongside roots-music mainstays like Leon Bridges, Wanda Jackson, Cyril Neville, Shannon McNally, LA LOM, Heart, and Sarah Shook & The Disarmers. Uncut Magazine likened her to a spiritual sister of Lucinda Williams and Chrissie Hynde, and Glide Magazine called her 'the real deal, undisputed soulful artist.'
She plans to start recording her seventh album with her studio band in late 2026, and her song 'You Got Some Growin' Up To Do' appears in the comedy Re-Election, starring Tony Danza and Adam Saunders.
