Biography
Parallel Threads is a six-piece jazz-funk-fusion collaboration of New Orleans sidemen, established in 2022. The lineup pulls players from other local bands: Ole Oddlokken on saxophones, EWI, and synth, Jake Kelston and Darrell Galatas on guitars, Chad Carlile on keys, Joey Laborde on bass, and Eric Brown on drums.
They released the debut EP Parallel Threads, Vol. 1 in March 2023 — five tracks and about half an hour of music — and played New Orleans club shows through 2024. The project reads as a side collaboration between busy working sidemen rather than a full-time band.
