Hall started trumpet at age 6, attended the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), graduated from the University of New Orleans, and has traveled the world playing music. He is the younger cousin of Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews, and by his own account, Glenn David Andrews gave him his first horn; he has also played with James Andrews.
He tours with the Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band and leads Lil' Glenn & Backatown, a high-energy mix of funk, jazz, rock, and blues that has lit up stages from Jazz in the Park to the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and headlined the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music on October 7, 2025. He also passes the tradition on as an instructor at the Trombone Shorty Academy.
