Giselle Anguizola is a singer, dancer, and bandleader based in New Orleans. She leads her own swing band — singing, tap dancing, and playing Freddie Green-style rhythm guitar — with a sound built on the Great American Songbook and small-group swing with a New Orleans twist.
A San Diego native, Anguizola moved to New Orleans in 2010 to devote herself to art. She worked as a swing dancer with the Smoking Time Jazz Club and later as singer and dancer with the New Orleans Swinging Gypsies, whose viral video earned millions of views. She has played French Quarter Fest, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Gretna Fest, and Bayou Boogalou, and her look and self-expression have drawn comparisons to Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, and Billie Holiday.
Off the bandstand, Anguizola is an internationally recognized swing dance instructor and competitor, founder of the Girl Jam organization (2005), and a yoga instructor.
