New Orleans, LA — Active

Dusky Waters is the musical project of New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Jenn Jeffers, whose work sits at the intersection of Americana, folk, and soul. Known for a warm, commanding vocal presence and deeply narrative songwriting, Jeffers moved to New Orleans in 2015 and built the project into a full band. She is also the Executive Director and Co-Founder of BlackAmericana Fest.

The Magic and Mourning of the Bayou State

Dusky Waters is the nom de plume of contemporary Americana songwriter Jenn Jeffers, whose songs bridge the rich musical traditions of the South — from her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas to her new home in New Orleans — with a modern, genre-defying sound. As a current band based in New Orleans, she performs with Analiese De Saw (viola, vocals), Conner McCready (percussion), Hannah Kreiger-Benson (piano, organ), and Nelson Williams (upright bass).

Her debut album Pass It On (2023) established her as a compelling voice in the contemporary roots landscape, earning an OffBeat Magazine Best Emerging Artist nomination. Dusky Waters made her New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival debut in 2024, and has since played the 2025 festival, multiple French Quarter Festivals, official showcases at Folk Alliance International in 2025 and 2026, and a 2024 Tipitina's date with Chapel Hart.

She is currently preparing her sophomore full-length album mother magnolia, recorded at Dockside Studio and set for release in November 2026, exploring themes of lineage, place, and belonging. Upcoming dates include a March 2026 show at Gasa Gasa and the 2026 magnolia nights tour.
