Swamp Pop for the Dance Floor

Fronted by the duo of Rick Olivier and Rob Savoy with the punch of the “Terrytown Horns,” the sextet's horn-section-and-piano-laced arrangements have been filling south Louisiana dance floors since 2003.

Their 2011 Threadhead Records release Shrimp Boots & Vintage Suits made the first cut for the Best Regional Roots Music Album Grammy category and picked up “Best Roots Rock Record” honors in OffBeat's Best of the Beat reader awards. All About Jazz praised its mix of covers — Ernie K-Doe's “Here Come the Girls,” Fats Domino's “Be My Guest” — and originals written in the classic style.

The band has played Jazz Fest (2024) and the French Quarter Festival (2019, 2024), and headlined the dancehall tent at Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, sharing stages with swamp-pop legends Tommy McLain, G.G. Shinn, Warren Storm and T.K. Hulin — and even hosting Jimmy Buffett as a guest. Their third release, Golden Crown (2016), is available through the Louisiana Music Factory.
