Craig Cortello is a New Orleans singer-songwriter known as 'The Canine Crooner' — his music honors man's best friend. His album Dog Tales, released in September 2022, was featured on WWL, WGNO, and WLOX television, in Pup & Purr and OffBeat magazines, and on WWOZ radio.
The Dog Tales studio band reads like a local jazz honor roll: GRAMMY winner Craig Klein of the New Orleans Nightcrawlers on trombone, Belinda Moody on upright bass, and Chris Guccione on drums — with Cortello on guitar, piano, and vocals, and his dog Enzo credited on 'barking dog.'
Every dollar goes to the dogs: all proceeds from streaming, CD sales, and live performance benefit local animal rescue organizations. The album's signature song, 'Go Adopt a Puppy,' got a music video starring rescue dogs from the Louisiana SPCA, Northshore Humane Society, and Zeus' Rescues.
