Christian Serpas & Ghost Town formed in 1999 and have spent the twenty-five years since representing Louisiana on the regional country and rock scene. Based in Mandeville, the band pairs frontman Christian Serpas (vocals, acoustic guitar) with a lineup that has included Jeff Oteri (drums, vocals), Don Williams and George Neyrey (guitar, bass, vocals), and Brian Broussard (bass) at various points across their run. Their sound — part Elvis, part pure country, part rockabilly, part Southern rock — has been described by the band itself as "twangified rock n' roll."
The band has released nine studio albums, including 2014's Revved Up and Ready to Go, which OffBeat Magazine named one of the Top Louisiana CDs of the Year and nominated for Louisiana Country Album of the Year at that year's Best of the Beat Awards. Their earlier releases Giddy Up (2002) and debut Electric Hoedown (2000) received similar recognition, with Electric Hoedown winning Album of the Year from Tambalaya Magazine's readers and earning Serpas Male Vocalist of the Year honors.
Over nearly 2,000 live performances across clubs, fairs, festivals, casinos, and concert halls, Ghost Town has shared stages with Kenny Chesney, Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Blake Shelton, Pat Green, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, and nearly a hundred other national country acts. On April 13, 2024, during their performance at French Quarter Festival, the band was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame — timed to coincide with their 25th anniversary as a band. They continue to perform regularly throughout the Gulf South, including their recurring Rockin' the Rails shows in Covington.
