AshlinParker

Grammy-winning trumpeter Ashlin Parker arrived in New Orleans from North Carolina and became one of the city's most versatile and committed jazz voices — a technically formidable player with a warm, singing tone and a deep commitment to the New Orleans tradition.

Ashlin Parker

Parker shared in the 2009 Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble as a member of the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, whose debut album Book One announced his arrival on the national jazz scene. He went on to become a core member of the Ellis Marsalis Quintet, a position he held until Marsalis's death in 2020. His Trumpet Mafia project — a rotating collective of trumpet players of all ages and backgrounds — reflects his commitment to music education and to keeping the tradition alive and growing.
